Each year, the ROBERT F. IRWIN award is provided to the Northern Plains employee “that demonstrates integrity in their family and at work, devotes them self to the community, is supportive and loyal in the workplace, and is attentive to workplace safety. This person represents the qualities and values Mr. Irwin knew to be very important in life.” The employee is recognized on a plaque that dates from the Award’s inception, and NPR will make a donation of $1000 to a charity or community program of the individual award winner’s choice, along with giving the employee $1000. The 2017 Robert F Irwin award winner is Riley Ferguson, Mobile Car Repair Mechanic, Northern Plains Rail Services.
