Why Families Love the Award-Winning North Shore Scenic Railroad Experience
Great news from the North Shore Scenic Railway (NSSR) in Duluth: This year’s annual voting by subscribers to the Minnesota Parent’s Magazine is official, and the NSSR placed “number one” in the category of “Best Place to See Trains in Minnesota.” NSSR’s latest honor follows a trend that began several years ago when House and Garden Magazine listed the Duluth attraction as one of the “Ten best family-friendly scenic train rides in North America.” With over 80,000 people voting on this award, this is the second year in a row that the NSSR has won this top honor.

A visit to the scenic railroad, of course, is a perfect complement to a visit to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, located within the beautiful historic depot in downtown Duluth, which USA Today voted as the “best transportation museum in America.”
The NSSR runs excursions to several different destinations and features special trains such as the popular “Pizza Party,” Murder Mystery Trains, and the Great Pumpkin Train in autumn.
