A New Chapter Begins: Nebraska Soybean Processing Center Officially Opens
The summer of 2025 brought excitement for our crews! Ag Processing Inc. (AGP) opened its David City, NE, processing hub, designed to handle more than 50 million bushels of soybeans per annum with production targets of nearly 700 million pounds of de-gummed oil per year.
“NPRS has had a key role over a 2 1/2 year time frame in constructing the industrial track required to support the rail shipments from this facility,” remarked Karl Carson, GM of Operations for NPRS Complete Track Works. AGP describes that the facility can unload a 110-car inbound unit train of soybeans at the facility every three to four days, on approximately 15 miles of trackage.
With access to the Union Pacific, the BNSF Railway, and the Nebraska Central Railroad, the 273-acre site also features 2.5 miles of paved roads to support trucks and movement of product in and out of the plant. “We stepped up to the challenge of this project, and are pleased that work is now approaching completion,” said Karl. “This has been a very large and demanding project for us, and I want to recognize each and every Northern Plains employee and contractor who worked together as a team to support the completion of this project.”
